Remedy Hasn’t Completely Dismissed The Idea Of An Alan Wake 2

'Someday, when the time is right.'

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake, when it released on the Xbox 360 (and later, PC) last generation, was one of the most unique games of that era. And of course it would be, coming as it did from the makers of the original Max Payne games. And though the game was a far cry from what had been initially promised to us, it was still unique and thrilling enough that people were willing to let it go.

Unfortunately, it was also a bomb, with it never getting enough sales to be considered a commercial success. Nonetheless, developers Remedy are still game for a potential sequel some time in the future, assuming the ‘time is right.’

“We’re really, really proud of all the games we have made,” creative director Sam Lake told Xbox Achievements. “And obviously all of them are dear to us. They have a special place in our hearts. You never know about the future and as we have said about Alan Wake, the sequel didn’t work out at this point. But definitely we are looking for opportunities to do more, someday, when the time is right.”

Personally, I would very much like an Alan Wake 2; that said, I am actually glad that they went ahead with Quantum Break first, because that game just looks killer.
