Immortals of Aveum_002

Immortals of Aveum is a magical first-person shooter where spells are your means of damage. However, it also has a robust progression system with 25 spells and more than 80 Talents with three different skill trees.

While you’re encouraged to try out different Talents and spells, you can visit Forges to reallocate Talent Points (though it’ll cost you). Forges also sell “hundreds” of items and allow for upgrading them. Ascendant Studios also revealed that there are 12 unique biomes to explore, with three hubs where you can talk to NPCs, take on missions and use the Forge.

One of the more unique areas is the Wound, a “growing void that divides the land and constantly threatens to consume more.” Their existence is a “great mystery” surrounding their presence, which makes you wonder if it’ll play host to some end-game content. You’ll ignore it, at least initially, during the story to fight Sandrakk and Rasharn’s armies.

The developer has confirmed a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which runs from July 20th to 23rd. It will release a new blog discussing the characters and story alongside it, so stay tuned.

Immortals of Aveum releases on August 22nd for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the latest gameplay video here.
