Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment turned quite a lot of heads with its announcement of Alan Wake 2 during last year’s The Game Awards, which has been followed by mostly radio silence on the matter since then. Now though, Remedy’s creative lead Sam Lake has provided an update on the matter as a part of Alan Wake’s 12th anniversary celebration.

In a recent celebration video (which you can check out below) with character model Ikka Villi and voice actor Matthew Porretta, Sam Lake talked about how the game is in deep production right now – and while progress is being made at a consistent pace, the team doesn’t want to devote its time and resources to create a trailer or gameplay showcase just yet. As such, Remedy won’t be showing off Alan Wake 2 this summer.

“Everything with Alan Wake 2 development is going really well. We are deep in production, have a lot of material, and a great deal of the game is playable,” said Lake.

“But we’ve been talking for the past couple of months and have come to the decision here at Remedy, along with our wonderful publisher Epic Games, that we will not be showing anything big this summer. To create a proper, polished demo or a trailer takes a lot of effort, and it’s several months of work that could take away from development,” he said.

“We feel that we have momentum going, and we want to make sure we are creating the best, and first, survival horror game for Remedy. We don’t want to take the team away from that focus, so we’re going to keep going and making a great game experience, and unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for a demo and trailer,” Lake added.

Additionally, Remedy also released a couple of concept arts for Alan Wake 2 as a part of its 12th anniversary celebrations which you can check out below. The recently released Alan Wake Remastered will also be heading to Nintendo Switch – read more on that through here
